Candivote was founded by Arvind Sridhar, Shivesh Mehrotra, Lucien Gaitskell, and Nick Masi. Despite many of the co-founders having attended a politically-active high school in Providence, RI, they all agreed they knew relatively little about their local politicians, the role local government has in a community, and the types of town and city decisions a mayor oversees. Although they were continually taught about the importance of citizen political participation throughout history, it was unclear how to actually get involved. Together they decided to found Candivote with the final goal of creating change from the ground up.
our Mission
In the current political climate, the only fact that most citizens can agree on is that the nation is more divided than ever. Instead of voting for politicians who represent our morals, beliefs, and values, we compromise due to a lack of educational resources and the polarizing party system. With this in mind, Candivote was created to increase local voter participation, education, and encourage voters to move away from the typical bipartisan system of politics and back to voting for candidates who best represent their ideas.

Our Platform
Candivote is an all-inclusive election platform through which voters can seek information, formulate opinions, and engage with local politicians. Candivote offers two services to voters. First, voters can take an in-depth questionnaire that compares their political values and ideals to that of their local politicians. Candivote's score-based algorithm uses the similarity of answers from the questionnaire to pair the voters with similar-minded politicians to support. Once matched with a candidate, Candivote becomes a hub to support a voter's top candidate, with options to donate, volunteer, and even send a message to their preferred politician.

Candivote believes in creating change from the ground up. We are the only platform that helps users make informed desicions about thier local government, starting from mayoral level.
Stay Involed
Candivote isn't just a quiz. We want all voters to stay politically active and involved in their local campaigns. After you're matched, we offer connections to your local candidates through volunteer opportunities, donations, and a messaging platform.
